Jeff’s Retirement on January 25, 2021

Congratulations on your retirement and happy birthday!!

Since we can’t have a party, we decided to create a set of videos to congratulate you and defer the party to this summer in Cannon Beach.  The thumb drive contains videos from each member of the family and one joint video from the Sharps.  They are all short and sweet, so it should be fun to watch each one.  They are all different, and one or two are funny.

Your career has been impressive. Forty years with the same company and many years as a partner.  You worked hard and built up an impressive set of clients.  It is time to reap the rewards of your efforts.

You told me you intend working part time as a consultant after you retire, and I think you have the right idea.  I did something similar and enjoyed the glide slope into full retirement.  You have more time to do the things you enjoy.  You get to use your extensive work knowledge without the stress.  You have time to figure out retirement.  However, you have to learn to disengage when people at work want to take their own path.

My retirement has been enjoyable with large house projects to plan and complete, hobbies like family history and photography, lazy days reading, stock market investing and some social activities unfortunately limited by COVID.

I am sure you will find a unique way to enjoy retirement.  One thing I found was “You have to work at it because it is a big change.”

We are all looking forward to Cannon Beach and will have a fun retirement party for you.
